A few words about 'HAKUKUMU'

Who / what is Hakukumu?

Hakukumu is the fusion of 'Haku' and 'Kumu'. It comes from Hawaiian (for those who would be interested) and means "Lord, Master, Leader" on the one hand and "Source" on the other. It symbolizes the enormous creativity that I use as a dominant, but also in everyday life, to come up with something original. Creativity is my source to make and keep everything lively, fascinating and interesting (as a Master for my sub, as a manager for my staff).

We sell 2 types of jute bondage ropes: our 'Basic' edition and our 'Luxury' edition.

'BASIC' edition

This standard natural rope is completely handcrafted and has a normal density of yarns.   This rope is ideal for starting riggers who do not want to spend that much money on the purchase of a beautiful rope set.   It is also a much cheaper alternative to riggers with mainly artistic purposes.  Despite the remarkable qualitative difference with our 'Luxury' edition, this bondage rope is soft and very flexible, allowing beautiful knots to be tied in complete safety. 

We dye the rope after it is made.  Unlike our 'Luxury' edition, and only with some darker colors, a small amount of color may transfer to the rigger's fingers when used for the first time.  Just like our 'Luxury' edition, this rope still retains its original fine scent.  It can be used as it is, but oils or resins help to retain it and ensure a beautiful silky smoothness when used.

The diameter is 5 mm. With around 9.5 g per meter, it is a very light and fast rope.

The length of 8.0 m is nominal, so a few cm can vary.

Our 'Basic' bondage rope is the cheapest colored quality shibari rope on the market.

'LUXURY' edition

This high-quality natural rope is completely handcrafted and has a higher than average number of yarns for extra smoothness.   Each of the three strands has 18 single yarns, which is 50% more than average. The rope is therefore soft, flexible so that nice compact knots and frictions can be formed.  This rope is ideal for the demanding and experienced rigger.

Because we dye the yarn before the rope is made, the color is completely consistent and the rope retains its original fine scent. It also means that you do not have to treat this rope wet.  It can be used as it is, but oils or resins help to retain it and ensure a beautiful silky smoothness when used.

The diameter is 6 mm. With around 17.5 g per meter, it is a light and fast rope.

The length of 9.5 m is nominal, so a few cm can vary.

Sale of real bamboo bondage rope in amazing colors.

Our bamboo ropes are luxuriously soft and supple. In addition, bamboo is anti-bacterial and vegan-friendly.  Ideal for those who are sensitive to allergies.

Suitable for both beginners and professionals, the rope is handcrafted by using all natural products. These ropes are made from dyed yarn, so the color penetrates the entire rope, perfect for when you need to cut your ropes to alternative lengths.  It's also completely consistent, just like our ‘Luxury’ jute edition.

This is a completely different one to work with compared to jute, it has some stretch and is squishy.  It feels and looks great, but it's not suitable for suspensions.  Unlike jute rope, bamboo rope does not require any special treatment.

The ropes can be washed, preferably handwashed. Do not dry in the dryer. Hang dry, away from heat sources. Keep in mind that frequent washing will shorten its life.

All ropes are finished with traditional overhand knots.
